Carolina Cup Bound – one stroke at a time

Soon the clouds will part, revealing a beautiful weekend along the Cape Fear Coast, and what better way to spend it than on a Stand Up Paddleboard! In our ongoing commitment to support our community, we are helping sponsors the Carolina Cup: a 3-day paddle event in Wrightsville Beach. From Friday, April 29 – Sunday, May 1 various races and activities will take place designed for all ages and abilities.

The Carolina Cup is the premiere SUP race in the Mid-Atlantic. Held at Wrightsville Beach Paddle Club, the goal of this event is to foster paddle education in a lively community setting. One of the highlights will be the Turtle Race, where kids and their parents tag team a 400-yard racecourse, switching off paddling duties every 30 seconds. We’re thrilled to be helping out with this event and are excited to watch future watermen and women take some of their first strokes.

Please come out and join in the fun – you don’t even have to bring a paddle. For more detailed information visit the Carolina Cup webpage here. WB Surf Camp will also be busy this week hosting a booth at both Hugh MacRae’s Earth Day Festival on Saturday and Wrightsville Beach Elementary School’s Earth Day Forum on Friday night. Feel free to stop by any of these events and say hi.
