Adult Surf & SUP 3 Day Camps Start NOW!!!
Calling all adults who have ever wanted to learn how to surf but do not have a whole week to spend doing it. We have the perfect solution that combines both of our specialties…Surfing and Stand Up Paddleboarding in one of the top best 20 places to surf int he world (according to National Geographic).
You will be led by some of our most experienced instructors on an exciting 3 Adult Day Camp through the surf and the sound. Utilizing our safe 3:1 student to instructor ratio, you will learn the fundamentals of surfing from the ground up. Your first surf lesson will teach you all of the basic safety precautions as well as how to stand up, maintain your balance and ride waves all the way to the beach. After a relaxed picnic on the sand, you will be chauffeured to our WB Surf Camp headquarters where you will receive an in-depth tutorial on ocean currents, wave dynamics, and swell forecasting.
The afternoon is then spent on the flat calm waters of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Wrightsville Sound. You will learn the simple art of Stand Up Paddling. With an easy learning curve, and a relaxed approach, Stand Up Paddling (or SUP) is one of the fastest growing watersports for several reasons. It’s fun, easy, and is a great outdoor workout. The best part is while you’re gliding over the water and there’s no one else around except for the herons, egrets, and dolphins passing by.
Our adult campers will enjoy surfing multiple beaches and a visit to Surf City Surf Shop to get a historical and technical design tour through their collection of ancient, old, and modern styles of wave riding devices. By day 3 your surfing skills will begin to feel more natural and comfortable. Our instructors will take you through a detailed surfing etiquette talk which many surfers need but rarely get in such a formalized manner. Your final SUP adventure will wrap up your 3 Day Surf & SUP camp with a journey in and around the saltmarsh and Harbor Island (home to the Carolina CUP) which sit in the heart of the Intracoastal Waterway.
School has started, our beaches are empty and our water temp is 82 degrees. no better way to learn to surf and stand up paddle than with a professional instructor who can identify and personalize their style of teaching to fit your levels in one of our limited enrollment camps.
