A Glance at 2014

Twenty Fourteen has been another year for the books. It was a year full of firsts and continued traditions; a year of familiar and new faces brought together from around the world; a year that we will always look back on and know that great waves were shared and life long memories were created. But most importantly, it was a year of building and strengthening relationships.

Wrightsville Beach Teen Overnight

This past year, we awarded over $30,000 in scholarships to families in need. We also donated a portion of each camper’s tuition to support the efforts of the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center – which was in its first year in their new building! With your help, we donated $16,325 this year which brings our total to $68,725!

IMG_0075Throughout our programs, we completed over 1,500 hours of community service in the local area. This ranged from collecting trash from every beach that we visited, cleaned up play grounds, collected invasive species and preserve clean up with the Nature Conservancy, painted and volunteered time to read and play with the children the El Llanito Elementary School of Tamarindo. In addition to our focus of building relationships, we were extremely honored to be recognized by the North Carolina Governor’s Office for our Team’s effort in saving the lives of 2 families in Topsail, NC during our Wrightsville Beach Teen Overnight Camp.

As our founder, Rick Civelli, always says, “this year’s ceiling is next year’s floor.” 2015 is expected to be another incredible year and we are excited to see what the New Year is going to bring.

We hope that your New Year brings health and happiness to you and your family!
