Vanessa Bezy
Guppy Camp Assistant Director/Certified Surf Instructor

Vanessa Bezy was born in Belgium and has moved several times internationally and across state lines. Now a U.S. citizen, she calls Wilmington, NC home. She has always been passionate about protecting the ocean and is currently studying marine biology at UNC-Wilmington. Her experiences as a camper at various marine-based camps (including Surf Camp) had a big influence on her as a child.

As president of the UNCW Surfrider foundation, she is very involved in local activism to protect our oceans. She plans to specialize in species conservation and management. She loves to travel, surf, and enjoy living by the ocean. Vanessa is happiest when she can share her love of the ocean with others and inspire them to protect it for future generations.

Education: B.S. in progress, Marine Biology, UNC-Wilmington.
