Surf Camp Team
Sarah Kannon
Certified Surf Instructor
Sarah is a rising sophomore at UNC-Wilmington majoring in Chemistry and Biochemistry. She aspires to attend UNC-Chapel Hill’s Medical School and become an anesthesiologist. Her love for the water and surfing brought her to UNCW for undergraduate studies. Lively, agreeable, considerate; she excels at interacting with others. Sarah put her outgoing personality to use all of last year teaching Tae Kwan Do in her hometown of Zebulon, NC. Sarah was a natural teacher, and felt extreme pride watching students using the skills she taught them to succeed.
Sarah began surfing at age ten after spending a summer at Holden Beach. The highlight of her surfing career so far has been a trip to Hawaii’s Ewa Beach in 2005.
Not the indoor type; she prefers high energy sports such as cross country, soccer, swimming, and Tae Kwan Do. Her team spirit and athleticism led her to become captain of her varsity soccer team and a 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwan Do. With the start of the Surf Camp season approaching, Sarah is thrilled to once again be teaching something she loves.
