Mark Suhrie
Certified Surf Instructor

Mark started surfing at a very young age in the Atlantic Beach/Emerald Isle area of North Carolina, learning on his dad’s old boards.  His dad started working in California when Mark was fifteen which led to Mark spending a lot of time on the West Coast, surfing throughout his teenage and early adult years.  Mark attended UNC-Wilmington where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and surfed extensively from the Outer Banks to Florida.  This is also when Mark started his extensive resume of surf travel.

After graduating from UNC-Wilmington, Mark moved to California’s central coast and enjoyed big north pacific swells for five years.  A job opportunity took him to Costa Rica for a year after that but Mark has now returned “home” to settle his life with his wife, Erin, and their recent new addition to the family, Cora Elizabeth!  Mark’s extensive travel and thousands of hours in the water make him an incredible asset to Surf Camp!
