Julie Jesiolowski
Certified Surf Instructor
Julie first visited the ocean at two months old, and she has loved the water since she can remember. Her parents took her to the Jersey Shore every summer of her childhood.
Growing up during the winter in Eastern Pennsylvania, she always enjoyed being outside, and filled her time raising rabbits, hiking, and playing softball with her siblings.
Introduced to surfing in early high school by a friend, her first time standing up had her hooked for life. When she’s not surfing in New Jersey, you can find Julie playing on a different kind of water at her family’s house on Lake Wallenpoupack. She describes the ocean as her playground, and feels there is no greater peace than spending a day catching waves.
Julie is enrolled at Penn State with high honors. She is studying psychology and biology and hopes to eventually work with genetics. She can’t say whether she will be working with marine animal genetics or curing cancer, but she knows she has big plans for her future. Julie seems to always be smiling, which she attributes to all the wonderful people in her life. She is involved in lots of school activities, including giving campus tours, tutoring, singing in the choir, and judging high school gymnastics meets. She spends the most time of all missing her mother ocean, and can’t wait for summer and their reunion.
