John was introduced to surfing as a kid by his father, but he didn’t catch “the bug” until he was 18 years old. John says he has never encountered anything as continually rewarding and challenging as surfing. He has left the continent to surf in Hawaii, and has lost days crossing the international date line to study and surf in Wollonjong, Australia, and in New Zealand; he would do it again in a minute.

John has been living in the Wrightsville Beach area for three years and believes that when he is out at Carolina Beach or Wrightsville Beach and the swell is solid, there is no better place to be.
