Katie Martin
Certified Surf Instructor

Katie was born in New Jersey and gradually moved down the coast until she eventually settled in North Carolina. It was in the small town of Emerald Isle on the Crystal Coast that she learned to surf and has been addicted to it ever since. Growing up playing soccer, basketball, and running cross country, Katie has found surfing to be unparalleled, as it proves to continually challenge her both mentally and physically.

During her tenure as a student at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, Katie enjoyed being a member of the UNCW Surf Club and the Surfrider Foundation. She also competed in various local surf competitions. Katie also has her NAUI Scuba Diving Certificate, which provides her with yet another way to enjoy the ocean and the marine life that inhabit it.

After graduating from UNCW, Katie moved to Colorado to expand her horizons and explore the sport of snowboarding. Although she loved her time spent in the mountains, she moved back to Wrightsville Beach as she feels is her true home. She looks forward to the positive impact she can make for the surfing community through her employment with WB Surf Camp.
