Teen Community Service Camp
Experience the thrill of riding down the line on the perfect wave, with newfound friends and awesome coaches cheering you on. Our Surf & Community Service Camp gets off to an exciting start with teens experiencing the excitement of learning how to surf from our professional instructors. Teens who attend this camp who already have pre-existing surfing skills will get taken to the next level as they get personalized attention by our staff.
We will surf two sessions per day on most days, but the fun doesn't stop there! Come feel the magic of the ocean as we take a behind the scenes tour of the North Carolina Aquarium and get hands on learning experience from a Marine Biologist about the amazing marine life that lives in our coastal waters. You will also visit the East Coast’s only Sea Turtle Hospital where these incredible creatures are rescued and then brought back to health by dedicated volunteers from our local community.
Your perspective of the coastal environment will be broadened as you volunteer with fellow campers and instructors on an eco-community service project. You will learn life skills including leadership, teamwork, and decision-making while most importantly learning the importance of giving back. After completing this two week adventure, you will have earned 30 community service hours. You will achieve new insights into the reasons why the conservation of our coastal habitats is so important and you will learn why people of all ages volunteer their time to helping the environment.
This program is designed for absolute beginner to intermediate surfers between the ages of 14 and 17.
